New Hampshire
- New Hampshire was founded in 1638 by John Mason and others. This Colony was granted to Mason and was established to create a mostly fishing and farming colony for profits.
- Economy- In New Hampshire, manufacturing textiles, whaling, fishing, farming, rum, ships, furs, and livestock were exported and traded for profit. Even though New Hampshire lacked fertile soil, they still managed to grow corn, pumpkins, squash, rye and beans.
- Geography- New Hampshire was flat and low around the coast and was made up of hills, mountains and plateaus. It was covered and surrounded by mountains with thick, lush forests, rivers and rocky soil that was horrible for farming. The New England Colonies were the coldest out of all three and had harsh, long winters and mild winters that spread disease.
- Government- New Hampshire was a proprietary colony at first which was when the king gave land to one or more people expecting a yearly payment in return. The Massachusetts Bay Colony and New Hampshire were together as colonies. This government included a governor, advisers and a representative assembly, but after became a Royal Colony meant it was under direct control of the English crown.
- Celebrity Residents- President Franklin Pierce, Alan Shepard, John Irving, John Stark and Brooke Astor.
- Religion- There were different areas in Connecticut dominated by different religions. So in the areas dominated but Puritans, they did not tolerate any other religions but in other areas another dominant religion was Presbyterian.
- Residency Requirements- You just had to be a follower of the christian religion and if you wanted to settle in places with puritans you had to be puritan or else you would get kicked out.
- Target Residents- They were looking for residents that respected their government, they wanted to let people know it was unique and effective, and the places where puritans inhabited you had to be puritan.
- Founding Documents- The Exeter Compact was signed in 1639 which was made and formatted off the Mayflower Compact.

Lord Charles with the permission granted by the King of England established a plantation and the Colony of Colyes known by New England.
