Virginia
- Virginia was founded in 1607 to gain riches for England, to enlarge their empire, and spread religion.
- Virginia's economy was mainly the growing and exporting of tobacco and other plantation crops.
- Virginia’s Geography- It was a Southern colony, it had fertile soil and plentiful rain, hot, humid summers and mild winters, it had the a lot of bays and Atlantic Ocean along one of its borders which was good for easy trade and transportation to England. It contained many mountains, valleys and woodlands.
- To govern the new colony, they set up a General Assembly which helped form a representative government. (Virginia House of Burgesses) This has helped shape what our legislative branch looks like today.

- In Jamestown, everyone who was able bodied was required to work.
- Target residents: anyone who wanted to settle in the new life and escape from the Church of England.
